Design PR

I have many interpretations of what design PR can be defined as. Some of these definitions make sense and others are just a result of random guessing.

Design public relations could be the creative way that PR has developed. We are sometimes seen as innovative thinkers and often have to be whatever a client wants us to be. We have to be photoshop experts, marketing executives, interior designers for events and so much more.

Design PR could also be the superficial side of PR that celebrities and famous designers are covered by. Here we deal with spinning stories and telling lies, which isn't really what PR is supposed to be about.

The truth about public relations management as seen by a B-Tech student and junior account executive is that public relations is about design, but to a certain extent. The design in PR lies in how we manage a crises, build relationships and brands.

The word design has to do with the planning and the process in developing something. PR is much the same, but we do the planning and processes within a business context.
