What motivates me and makes me want to get up in the morning?
Well i'd have to say that would be LIFE itself. When i'm laying in my bed, and my alarm goes off.... I get up because there's so much life in the world and although the prospect of laying in bed seems like the BEST THING in the world, i still get up and go because there's so much to look forward to.
Getting something done at work that makes me proud of myself and moving forward in being the best person i can be are some of the things that motivates me. In my personal life, there are people who motivate me. It could be a smile, a laugh, advice from a friend or a night out without a care in the world.
All of these relate back to the awesome power of being alive. There's so much possibility, so much to look forward to. In the end, i think we also motivate ourselves. When i stumble and fall in life, i have to be the one to pick myself up and move forward.
So go forth and be your own motivator!!!

LIMITLESS...
Once again, a movie has inspired one of my blogs....a movie called "Limitless".
What if? What if humans could use 100 percent of our brain capacity?
In the movie Limitless, a man discovers a pill that you have to take once a day to increase your brain capacity to 100 percent. (and it's not Panado people!) After he takes this pill, he has a better job, a bigger and much more stylish house and his dreams and aspirations are...well, Limitless. Although there is no actual point or bigger picture to this movie, it had me thinking. Would we actually want to live like this. The everyday man would have limitless dreams but like with all things, humans sometimes have evil intentions. Imagine giving a terrorist 100 percent brain capacity and seeing what he does with it?
Makes me think that God must've had some sort of plan if we have all this brain power, but limits to using it. I think we're hardly coping with the little brain capacity we have, 100 percent would just be overkill.
I won't give away what happens in the end of the movie.... that would spoil you viewing pleasure. It might be quite far-fetched but i think it stretches the imagination to what could happen. Happy viewing!

10 Most unexpected consequences of being online
Is the internet a helpful tool or a weapon used by those who want to sneak into our lives? You could veiw someone's facebook status update and know exactly where they are at what time. Use Goggle Maps if you don't know where it is. If you don't know what she looks like, view her profile picture. You'll prbably stare for a few hours since she chose to post a half-naked picture of herself.
This could be what's going on the mind of a stalker while viewing you online. You have been warned, ALWAYS think like one in whatever you do online. Its the only way to be safe.
There's more than just 10 consequences of being online but i've chosen to talk about the most deadly one. Girls right around the world need a wake up call. I've seen way too many girls introduce their whole lives online. Posting numerous pictures of themselves in the most unflaterring positions or posting updates that would make their father's shed more than just a few tears.
Girls want to be BAD. They want to be noticed. This blog post is for all parents, coming from someone not too old herself. I'm screaming for parents to wake up and see that their teen girls are putting themselves at risk.
I'm no angel or grandma who wants to give a long lecture..... Just a 21 year old who has seen more than enough to fear for the lives and privacy of every girl online.

Elephant in the room
The idiom "Elephant in the room" can be defined as a major or controversial problem that is not being discussed. In my opinion, the "elephant" is usually something that someone believes to be shameful or such a big problem that it would cause chaos should it actually be discussed.
The solution to this big problem would obviously be to address it or to introduce the elephant instead of hiding behind it, yet people naturally want to cover up what they deem to be shameful. Parents are sometimes victims of covering up the elephant in the room (being something their child has done.) What would people say if they found out that their teenage daughter was pregant or their son had just been to rehab for his drug addiction.
When i think of this idiom, i automatically think of a programme called, "Desperate Housewives." The housewives main aim each day was to cover up deep, dark little secrets. There's even a series like this for teenagers now, called "Pretty Little Liars."
We're grooming the 'Little Liars' to be just like their parents and hide the Elephant in the Room as if nobody already knows that its there. The only problem is that its so big, who wouldn't notice?

Facebook - the good, bad and ugly
Just the other day someone was telling me how easy it is to find things about your friends, boyfriend and any other person you might be interested in.
No more hiring of detectives to find out if his cheating, or grape-vine gossiping to let everyone know your frenemy is scandalous. Just post it on FACEBOOK! Friendships have been ruined, relationships destroyed through the social media tool.
You want to see what your ex has been up to? Or what his new girlfriend looks like? Go online..... Its easy, informative and nobody will even know you're doing it. The only problem is that we spend so much time on Facebook doing more harm than good. Yes, we have a chance to get in touch with old friends, but there's a bad and ugly side to those who are regular Facebookers.
I've done it myself i'm ashamed to say. Searched through someone's profile to find out what i needed to know instead of just asking the person. I felt guilty, and even though i still look at profiles sometimes without good intentions, i've learnt to take everything on Facebook with a pinch of salt.
Its a virtual world where things can me misconstrued and where insignificant things can be blown out of proportion. Next time you find yourself frantically searching through profiles to see what someone is up to, pick up your phone and ask them. Its that EASY.

WHY SOAPIES AND REALITY TV IS SO POPULAR
Don't you just love how in soapies your husband could be your mother's ex husband or your sister could be a gay man that's inlove with your cousin.Soooo complicated yet we still watch it, probably to make us feel better about our own lives. Reality TV is just a spin-off of soapies and that's why its gotten so popular.
We love looking into other people's lives and talking about how utterly ridiculous they are when we're the ones watching them. Its gotten to the point where any celebrity could make a show about watching paint dry and it could be a hit!
I'm not a very big fan of reality TV, but i do tend to sometimes catch a glimpse of the series on TV. There's one called "Sweet Sixteen" where you watch spoilt, rich sixteen-year-olds get all the things their little hearts desire. Fast cars, big houses, bags, dresses and parties that cost as much as it would take to feed ten small countries for 5 years are the order of the day.
Superficial and ridiculous is what it is, now where's the remote so i can watch '7de Laan' and 'Run's House' afterwards.

Every day is a good day
My day starts with my miserable alarm going off, which i put on snooze at least three times before finally plucking up the courage to get up. My toes freeze and i try to get ready in about 2 seconds just to get into my warm clothes. At work, im still freezing, but then i feel bad for complaining because of all the homeless people outside.
I think to myself, at least i have a bed to get out of and boots to wear when my toes go blue. I have a warm cup of coffee and a cup of soup in the afternoon. I have so much, but it seems the more we have, the more we complain.
I watched a movie last night while laying under my very warm blankets that also reminded me of how much i have. The movie, "For colored girls" is a story of black american women who all go through hard times and come back better in the end.
These women live through the worst things any woman can possible go through in her life. Rape, murder, abortion and how to deal with men are some of the things that this movie deals with.
While laying in your warm bed next time, hating the thought of that alarm, have the people in mind who have so much worst to deal with. There's worst things than not having a heater. Try to keep those people who don't have anything in mind.
